As the annual cargo volume had reached 2 million tons in 2015, the Indonesian logistics company FKS decided to invest in multiple warehouse facilities. The aim was to have more control over the increasing storage requirements. To achieve that, a joint venture logistics company was formed with FKS Multi Agro, the leading Indonesian grain and food distributor, as well as with Charoen Pokphand and Japfa Comfeed, the region’s two largest feed millers. Located in Teluk Lamong, PT Nusa Prima serves as a dry bulk transit storage facility for handling grains and feed ingredients.
The logistics facility of PT Nusa Prima became fully operational at the end of 2016. The objective was to optimize the supply chain for the import, handling and distribution of key raw materials for the feed milling industry. In the end, this will allow the company to save money, which will in turn be used to support the end customers (farmers). This is why the Government of Indonesia didn’t hesitate to participate in the project, which became as such a prestigious public-private partnership.
The customer chose to work with SCE because of our reliable track record in handling operations with a high product rotation. We provided them with a robust, modular silo building. The project was completed in due time and the result exceeded the customer’s expectations.
